Excellent family oriented resort with access to one of the best chain of lakes in Minnesota. Our family stays several times each summer, and have been doing so for many years. There are guided activities for the children each day, and the many available lakes make it easy to find someplace to ski, regardless of wind direction. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Towering Pines Resort is an amazing place to bring your family for a week or weekend. The staff there are so friendly and willing to help you with whatever you need. The atmosphere is top notch, and if I recall correctly Towering Pines has been family owned & operated for decades. This resort is perfect if you are going up north and need a nice and affordable place to stay. My family has been going up there for 40+ plus years!
My grandpa took our family here for a small family gathering each year growing up. After he passed we stopped coming. Now that I have a family, my parents started taking my family here each year as well as my brother. It's the best place for kids. The beach is great for swimming and it's tucked in on a no wake zone so it's really safe too. The area of the lake also has some nice places to canoe. I read another post about customer service that wasn't noted to be what the vacationer expected. We have had great service! It's a husband and wife that run the place and their two (fairly sure) kids assist - maybe 10-12 yrs old (in 2015). They are doing work all day but always make sure to greet us warmly and ask how we're doing. I respectfully disagree with the other post ( and was even a touch offended). Usually after 10, things are quiet. It's a family place that kids love and as a parent feels safe. A great place to recharge!
Our family has been coming here for 25years. It is very family friendly with many, many activities. They have water bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, miniature golf, paddle boats, ping pong, and many things that are all free to use. They do a campfire and provide s'mores, ice cream, and campfire fires. The beach is very calm and great for children. I couldn't think of a better place to come with a family.
